New works, supplies and such!

Sep. 5th, 2006 | 04:11 pm

So I have lots of new pieces going all at one time. Fun fun fun.

Some of them are mixing nature with the acrylic medium while others are urban with real wires and fake bricks either imersed in the acrylic or attatched to it or hanging out of it.

Im not sure how deep I am going to make them, I want to go thin but the fear of tearing them OYE!!!! Every time I get ready to take the next step I get worried and decide to add another layer.

Supplies wise these days, I found myself wandering through the dollar store only to find some really good deals! Who'd a thunk!

You can get bags of 10 foam brushes in various sizes! And yup for a buck! WOOHOO! Seeing as how these are what I use to apply the acrylic I bought 10 bags worth! I can use a brush to apply a few pieces and toss it, at 10 cents a pop hell why not?

I found paint brushes too, both big ones and small detail ones in various packs and sets. I foud exact style blades and paint plastic drop clothes and foam rollers and plastic gloves and all sorts of containers to do mixing and such in and and and, ya gotta love these places! But I would have never thought I would find so many things I use for my work at disposable prices.

I want to get a lot of these new pieces and some of the old ones too and put together my first show. Just need to find some place to have it still. hmmmmmm.

I also still want to find a big tents to put the lighthouse acrylic block set in for the student show this year in the pcc gallery.

Giving up or chickening out?

Sep. 4th, 2006 | 03:16 am

mood: annoyedannoyed

What is it about life that I always end up playing The James Taylor's "handy man" to the lost souls in need instead of the John Cougar Melloncamp's “Jack” to "Jack & Diane"??????????????? Its not that all I want to do is dribble off those bobby brooks slacks and do what I please, no sir, so dont get me wrong on that point! but It is more about how life goes on, long after the thrill of livin' is gone. Its just that I so miss the days when putting my hand in the back pocket of my best gals levi's and hers in mine, as we walked down the hall of central elementary grade school was all that was needed for contentment. The thrill of hearing someone (liked) me or the fear laden joyful suspense of the girl I was crushing on was about to find out I (liked) her.

I think in a lot of ways, sex, of all things, killed it for me. Its not that I havent had my share of encounters in my life, oh, that’s relations to you Eddie Murphy fans, and some of them have been quite good, I think? Its just that none of them were ever without stress and mind racing. Did I do it right? Did I do it well? Was I long enough, big enough, small enough, fast enough or slow enough? And the times that were really mostly good, afterwards, I would get all weirded out and anxious with my usuall social anxiety crap!

So in some ways, sex is the real culprit that sucks the life out of life and love, for some people. Just because Debbie can do Dallas and Wanda can suck a golf ball through 20 feet of garden hose doesn’t mean they could ever hold a candle to little Susie that pushed me off a swing when I was 7 just because secretly she really liked me. Woman that are capable of such feats of sexual prow us are scarier than Jack Nicholson running down a hall in my directing carrying a large axe and screaming ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY! HEEEERES JOHNNY!

Love for the sake of love, is after all the ranting and analogy dropping, is what I am getting at here.
Is it really worth all the stress and bullshit? Someone please tell me because I gotta tell ya, I forget!!!
So in the end, either it is Giving up or Chickening out, there is a difference. Get busy livin' or get busy die'n, thank you morgan, I just may......

Until then, it will be one more chorus of (fixin' broken heart, yeah baby im your handy man, come-a come-a come-a come come, yeah yeah, thats me, im your handy man.)

Inconsiderate smokers really suck! really!

Jul. 27th, 2006 | 12:58 am
mood: pensivepensive

I smoked for 14 years at the rate of a pack a day. I was always considerate to those that didnt smoke though. I would always respect others wishes not to smell it or smell like it if I could. The two people that live below me use their patio as their smoking room so that they will not smoke up there nice pretty little apartment. In the process, I can never open my windows or my place smells like an ash tray. So I put a fan on my porch each nite since it has been hot to cool off the place and I dont do so until after midnight when the lights are off in their apartment and they appear to be in bed. I leave it out there for no more than 10 minutes to blow cool air into my steaming hot apartment. This time, I put the fan out, I goto the bathroom, and while i am in there one of them go out and smoke and my fan blows it all into the apartment. I smelled it through the door into the bathroom and it is the farthest possible spot away from the patio in the place. I openned the door and FREAK! not only could I smell it, my sofa smells smokey now as does the carpet. I mean come on. I suffer all day long without openning my windows, and this is how I am repayed? The gloves are off now. I have been as nice about this mess as one can be. I have asked the apartment folks twice now to help me find a fair and amicible solution. Now I will send a not certified mail in writing requesting changes be made. If that doesnt work, I will then check into legal right and such. One can only be pushed so far. Okay rant over. G'nite cruel world.

I tried Lauryns quiz and this is what I got! now I am going to try the other one!

You scored as XI: Justice. The blindfold arbiter weighs the evidence and passes judgement without fear or favour. There can be no appeal.Justice is not necessarily the same as Law. True justice seeks out the spirit of the law, not just its letter. If a law is bad then true Justice will set that law aside. This is the sacred responsibility of those given the power to judge. If well aspected in a Tarot reading, this card can indicate settlement of disputes, the achievement of a just outcome. If badly aspected this card can indicate corruption and failure of justice.
